Family weekend

My immediate family was together all weekend - it was fun. We try to do this, enjoy a long weekend together, every summer... a time for my little sis from Oakland, CA, to come home and my oldest brother, wife and 4 kids to travel up from DeMotte, IN. That makes for 4 sibs, my dad and mom, 3 in-laws and 9 grand kids...18 people total!

My little sis (Emily) flew in on Wednesday and my oldest brother (Elton) + fam (wife + 4 kids) drove up on Thursday.

Our weekend looked a little like this: Thursday night the older kids/parents went to see the latest Harry Potter movie. Friday during the day, my parents (who have a pontoon) and my brother Elton (who trailered up his speed boat) spent the day on Murray Lake, along with Emily.

Friday night we all converged at Grand Rapids Christian High's new auditorium (wow!) to see my brother Brett's girl, Olivia, in a production of Aristocats. The show was absolutely great! After, there was a birthday celebration for our family's August/September birthdays.

Saturday was spent at Gun Lake with the entire crew alternating between the beach and the boats. Can we say BLAST?!!! After a little rain, we ended our beach time a tad early and everyone came back at our place for some pizza.

Sunday was church, then dinner at my parents house.

PHEW! I'm yawing just re-living what we did, but hanging with family is priceless and worth every moment!

decided to dance about it...

how was it being back at the old GRCHS? I'm sure it looks nothing like when we were there thousands of years ago!!!

I can't believe how much Olivia and Regan look like Emily when she was little. The VanderTuin genes run strong!!
