Traveling Zoo

Daddy is ALWAYS gone Monday nights so we made plans to hit the latest library program after dinner. Tonight it was John Ball's Traveling Zoo. Prior to the event, I explained to Emma that a few animals were going to be there and that there would also be a short program where we had to sit quietly and listen. She did fine despite her normal wiggly britches. The funniest thing was when we were getting into the car after the program, I asked her if she liked the program and she told me, in so many words - not so much, those animals were small. She wanted to see an elephant, lion, tiger...

I also LOVE watching Emma interact in various and/or new settings as it gives me just a little foresight into what I may have in store come school time.

Emma is definitely NOT on the shy side and is fairly assertive. I think she found herself 2nd in line for "petting" the animals (lizard, miniature owl and some native of the porcupine...ew!) after the program. She would have stood there all night, petting the animals had I not motioned for her to let other (bigger) kids pet, too.

(note: mom forgot the real name of this creature, it is NOT a lizard)
