We are Getting There

We received a copy of our homestudy in the mail on Friday. This is quite a stepping stone in the adoption process. We are happy to report that we have been approved (not that we were worried!) and once we put the finishing touches on our profile, we'll begin the wait. The wait that I refer to is us, waiting to be chosen by a birthmom. We have no idea how long we will wait, but we'll be praying for patience and that just-the-right birthmom will come along, all in God's perfect time :)

But, before our wait begins, we must finish our profiles. The agency has done their part thus far, the next step is in our hands (we are so grateful for our caseworker and the agency. They have been so attentive and efficient, making this process an absolute joy!). We expect to complete our profiles, by afixing the 6 chosen pics to the hard copy profile, by the end of this week if all goes as planned. In fact, I suspect that we'll finish ahead of schedule as our help (Joel's mom & dad) has a vested interest in seeing this project to completion. That vested interest is a new grand-baby!

I love to see Joel's excitement growing! He seems to talk and refer to our future child more and more, while I feel a bit more anxious with each passing day. I'm glad we are able to balance eachother out and its comforting to see him take such an active role in all our preparation as we have just began preparing that perfect place in our home for the baby.

I can hardly still believe that we will be parents. I'm still trying to grasp this fact!
