Photos, Pictures, Images...US!

We're getting there...we are almost done with our profile. You're probably wondering when I'll quit blogging about this thing called a profile. Sometimes I wonder myself. I don't mean to sound like we're not enjoying the creation of our profile, because we truly are. But, the last 6 weeks, my mind has been consumed with this project, the writing, the pictures, the wording, the look, etc.

Our wise and dear caseworker told us from day-one, that the hardest part of all this would be figuring out the pictures that we would use so that the birthmom could get a glimpse of who we are (she was so right!). When I stop and really think about that, it makes my stomach turn. We have to choose 6 pictures that will somehow tell our story and show that we are worthy of raising a child! (Please notice exhibit-1. This picture of us in a fire truck is one of the pictures we'll use). We have spent hours going through past pictures and we have spent the better part of some days having new pictures taken...posed, unposed, action, inside, outside, etc.

I'm happy to report that we have 5 of the 6 pictures nailed down. There is one last picture that we have on our wish-list that we hope to capture this weekend while carving pumpkins in our backyard with our neices and nephews. If all goes as planned, we'll be picture-ready after this weekend and ready to submit our profile for printing. Why is all this such a huge deal? Well, once our profile is finalized and printed, and our homestudy is completed...we'll be officially waiting to be matched with a birthmom!
