First home study meeting

Today we met our caseworker for the first time. She will be the one to take us through the entire process, from now, all the way to baby-in-our-arms!! Needless to say, it was pretty important that we clicked...and we did. The 90-minute meeting began with introductions and then we dove right in. We discussed everything from expectations and desires, reactions by family members to our decision to adopt and how we came to the decision to adopt. She even wanted to know how we met and what our courtship was like (I was eager to tell the story and happy to say I wouldn't have changed a thing!).

In the meantime, we continue to read the required books, make sure all our reference letters are completed and mailed to the agency and finally, we are drafting our profile (3-page, Joel & Brenda pamphlet...so to speak) which will probably be the hardest thing we have to do. But, it is all so worth it!
