How can a little person with only three years under their belt make my knees buckle with emotion? Well...it happens. The moment I make a conscious effort to slow down and focus on Emma (not me), find out what she wants to do, what makes her happy...she utterly astounds me. With that being said and a note that I'm horrible, horrible at slowing down to notice my kids sometimes...I do try.
What would normally be a "quick a minute" task for me turned into an Emma-mommy moment that ended up making my heart swell with pride (the good kind. Is there a good kind?) as I noticed what an amazing child she is and how blessed Joel and I are to be her parents.
It was so sweet to chat with her while we "made" bread sticks for dinner and hear about what she wanted to do after dinner. I actually listened. It was awesome.
