Day 2

More of the same. Maybe a tad less crying. No new, interesting photos to speak of.

And, if I may give one word of advice to anyone out there...start them young. The two-year old in this bunch takes everything in stride and looks at all the older kids (who are screaming, crying and shaking with fear) like "what's wrong with you?" It may be her personality, but I think it ultimately comes down to addressing our irrational fears before we let them set in. (Granted, a little healthy fear of water is good)

I'm not trying to pontificate as a result of watching kids take swimming lessons but it definitely made me think. As adults, those days are done (usually) when parents MAKE us do things that they know may be uncomfortable, but ultimately will make us a better person.

Today, as us moms were hiding and huddled in an adjacent sun room, someone asked me if I felt bad seeing Emma scream "I want my mom!" and do her protest dance on the side of the pool. I quickly said "no" knowing that the final goal is her safety and well being.

There's a sermon in here somewhere, but the sunny weather and hot temps are calling me...
