My Dad

A HUGE congrats to my dad for working for such an awesome company for 38 years. He retired on March 31, at 63 years old. I'm so proud of him and I could not ask for a better role model. He is now on to bigger and better things, but most of all relaxing with my mom. They still are in love and actually enjoy spending time together...awesome!

The one selfish downside is that they will be gone a lot more (traveling) now and that means...less childcare! Oh well, I'll deal :) As Joel always says...it's not all about me. Thanks for the reminder dear.

On the flip side, my dad's two retirement hobbies will be puttering and trading. Several years ago in preparation to retire, he built himself a 5 stall garage/shop with an apartment/office on the top floor. This will be his new office where the puttering and trading will happen.

For my dad's retirement gift, my mom and all the siblings bought my dad a little LCD TV where he can monitor financial news/stocks and that along with his two laptops should keep him in good shape on the trading side of things.

His puttering habit will be kept firmly in check thanks to his vast array (and increasing) of tools, machines and last but not least, his John Deere!

I'm just insanely happy for my dad (and mom) and hope they are blessed with many more happy and healthy years together!!

Love you dad!

(Below are a few pix of my dad doing his trading. He explained what he traded and how he did it, but my eyes glazed over. I trust HE knows what he's doing!)
