I'm beginning to feel more relaxed these days, since the holidays are past, but that does not mean there is nothing going on, for example:
- We took a three day trip to Shipshewana, Indiana, with Joel's parents and his brother's family. It was a relaxing blast.
- We received notice from our adoption agency that we must attend a mandatory meeting this week...change is imminent. And, while we do not know what this meeting holds, many agencies across the country are closing their doors or scaling down their programs due to the lagging economy.
- I've had a couple extra rug-rats in my care (on and off) since Friday since their parents decided to skip town and head to the Florida Keys...wise choice!
- Joel and I are taking an 7 consecutive-week training course that, when finished, would allow us to adopt from Michigan's foster system. We have no plans as of right now, but want to be ready would the Lord lead us in the that direction :)
- Our baby is almost three year's old and. it. is. so. hard. for. me. to. believe.
- Next week we are attending an open house for a three-year old pre-school program that Emma will likely attend this fall. Um, wow...again.
- I seem to be taking more photos lately, and loving it. We'll see where this takes me...
- Joel and I signed up to participate in a locally run Biggest Loser contest that runs through March. Lord Help Us! (and I'm not kidding) We are HUGE fans (no pun intended) of the show, but this season we'll be exercising while watching it versus having an evening snack. Choices people, it's all about choices!
- Joel held his last meeting, in December, as chairman of the Kent District Library Board. While it'll be nice to have some of that time back, I will really miss hearing about all the sweet things that our libraries offer.
