Christmas Eve & Christmas

Christmas Eve we spent together, just the three of us, at home. It was a delightful, relaxing and quiet time. We opened a few gifts, but otherwise just enjoyed doing nothing, together. Christmas day it has been our tradition to go to Joel's parent's house, early, and open gifts. This year was no different and after negotiations, we were able to delay gift opening to later-than-normal 7:30 a.m.! It's always a blast though as Joel's parents shop year-round for Christmas and always find very unique and thoughtful gifts. Of course, gift opening is deliciously divided by a huge brunch which gives us the stamina to finish opening gifts :)

Christmas night we had my parents over for a fondue dinner. We served the traditional oil fondue flanked by a delectable 4-cheese Italian fondue along with bread, chicken, steak, mushrooms, carrots and pea pods for dipping. Aside from a permanent heat-ring left on our table, there were no additional injuries, just full bellies.

To finish the evening, I must also mention that my mom brought over her famous banket, made with real almond paste and a flaky crust that'll make your eyes roll back in your head. Yep, it's that good.

Emma, flying around the house on her new scooter, while
talking on her "cell phone" and running into things. Joel blames
me for this behavior and claims she is only doing what she sees. What...Moi??!

Bright-n-early Christmas morning, we opened gifts at Joel's parent's
house along with his brother, wife and two kids. As usual, a photo of Emma invading Nathan's space and giving him a death-grip hug.

Christmas took a toll on Emma. She sat on her papa's lap
for a long time while they watched Mary Poppins together...aww!
