Laughter IS the best medicine

Saturday night was my and Joel's annual night-away, thanks to the generosity of the Chairman of the organization I work for, and also my immediate boss (and our parents who watch Emma, of course). Every Christmas I receive a sizable gift certificate to the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel and another gift certificate to Leo's Restaurant. Can we say nummy-time-fun-time!!?

In case you're curious, my nummy-time consisted of a grilled slab of swordfish stuffed with a succulent spinach and artichoke mix. Joel's nummy-time choice was a side of Halibut atop a mound of potatoes, all covered with a tomatoe-ish looking gravy. Divine!

On top of the night at the hotel and fancy schmancy dinner, we normally allow ourselves to splurge a little by purchasing a couple tickets to the Broadway show being featured at DeVos Hall, during our stay. The timing was impecable...if you like dirty puppets :)

What was promised to be a racy Broadway musical, was just that.
Avenue Q was downright hysterical and prompted oodles of laughter from what appeared to be an atypical west Michigan audience. Then again, maybe not. We did witness some nervous giggling and blushing cheeks from time to time.

So, while it may not have been the most edifying two hours, nor something that I'd take my mom to (sorry mom!) it WAS two hours of out-n-out belly laughter and it felt GOOD! Just what the Dr. ordered.

I saw that show reviewed in the GR Press & they said it was funny, and a little off color.

Sounds like our book club meetings. :)

Laugh on Brenda!
