Boy, what has happened to me?! Emma's 1st Birthday included a brunch that we hosted for about 25 people. Emma turns TWO on Wednesday and we hardly have a gift for her, let alone anything planned. I suppose I'm feeling fairly guilty right now and utilizing a bit of blogging therapy to help me. I realize that she probably won't remember her second birthday, or any gifts, or any party, but my lack of planning ANYTHING has me feeling sheepish. I suppose I better quit lamenting about this and get working on something!
(last year's festivities)
Let's hope I have some sort of Exhibit B to post in the very near future. In my defense, both sets of grandparents have been out of town and frankly, we are focusing a bit more on Joel's grandma's 90th birthday party that'll take place later this week. Don't you think 90 years takes a bit more precedence than 2??! I sure do!!
6 thing(s) you said:
I want to squeeze her face in that first picture.
I know what you mean - Levi's 1st B-day was a big combined party, huge decor, special smash cake, the works!
This year, I nearly forgot to get any balloons, ran out of time to put up the decorations I bought the day before his birthday, and Levi didn't even want a piece of cake.
The week of his birthday I had to keep reminding myself that we had a party planned and I needed to get ready for it! Good luck with your planning :)
Happy Birthday Emma!
I'm going with "bad mom"!
J/K of course. We don't even buy our kids birthday presents because they get so many from both side of our family. Talk about bad mom!
Ben did not have a 2nd birthday party b/c Jerry and I were getting ready to leave on vacation, and this year I will be gone on ALL 3 of my kids' birthdays...talk about guilt! Get away with having no parties while you can b/c when they turn about 5 or 6 you can't get away with it anymore!
Yo check out your fancy crib. First birthdays are made for going overboard. Second ones...not so much. :)
You are definitely NOT getting the bad mom award anytime soon. I've seen Emma's toy pile and she is not lacking in stuff or in LOVE. =) Your special "sponsor" is worth more then a party...can't wait to hear it tomorrow!
