It's official!

We finally finished our profiles! It took us a bit longer this time than last time, but we are also a bit busier this time around. In fact, Joel and I were just remembering how our previous caseworker told us that some people hold onto their profiles for quite a while, unnecessarily stalling their process. And, we remember thinking how absolutely scandelous that was and by no means would we ever - could we ever - do that! Oh well, it's done now so we are officially on "the books" and waiting for a momentous phone call that will once again change our lives!

Many people ask us how long we have to wait, or what is the projected time line for our adoption. There is no concrete answer to that question as domestic adoptions (at least in Michigan) are vastly different than international adoptions. In Michigan domestic adoptions and in most cases, the birthmom chooses the adoptive family. So, that's what we are waiting for; a birthmom to see our profile and decide we are the right people to adopt her child. Pretty exciting if you ask me!

To be honest, every once in a while I break into a cold sweat when I think of what a newborn means. No more absolute schedules, hardly any sleep, no quick trips anywhere, etc. And, let's face it...Joel and I are not 25 years old anymore!

But, most of all, I look at Emma and can't wait to see what little person our gracious Heavenly Father will entrust us with this time around!

Emma "helping" put together the profile. Little does she
know what she's getting herself into!

Wow, that looks so professional! What a beautiful profile. I think a birthmom will look at the cover picture of the two of you and immediately see tender-hearted Joel and fun-loving Brenda. That picture really captures you both! You will be in our prayers!
