First time

I've been to The Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park about 20 times, for political events. But, I've never been to simply enjoy it. Today was a first for me. Emma and I met my friend there and we had a great time (it helps that the weather was perfect!). I feel like I've been living under a rock as everyone I know says how great it is, especially the children's garden. I can now say that I concur! Emma loved it and she could run (safely) on all the paths, all morning long. I do wish it was closer to Byron Center though...

Emma entering the children's garden thru the miniature gate.
How cute is that?!

Playing in the "Michigan Lakes"

if you look closely, Emma is sticking out her tongue.
She thinks that's what the beaver is doing.

Playing on the coolest wooden play structure

You must always make time for morning tea with friends!

I just loved all the sculptures. To bad they are off limits.

Emma, taking a nano-second to smell the flowers

Ya, trying to enjoy a casual walk thru the greenhouse portion...not happening.
Maybe next time when my road runner is buckled in, tight!

The amazing horse, so cool

Emma, normally scared of nothing, just pranced
around the
horse and kept her distance.
She wanted nothing to
do with it

It was a beautiful day at the gardens indeed! The Children's Garden is just perfect. Glad you and Emma got to enjoy it. Surprised we didn't bump into you as we were there today too!

ummmm...."so far from Byron Center."

What happened to you? You've turned in to a suburbanite! You do realize, don't you, it's only a few minutes away from where you used to drive to work every day?

Someone has to remind you of the good ol' days.....
