O.K. maybe not in the traditional sense. Today we submitted our initial application to begin the adoption process for Emma's little brother or sister. Technically, we have about two to three months of paperwork, home visits, etc., to complete before we are officially in the pool that a birth mom will choose from, which also means we are adopting domestically.
We are going to use the same agency that we used before since we had an all-around, fabulous experience with Emma's adoption. And, we feel passionate about their mission too.
It certainly feels different this time, than last time. We're both a little less anxious, a bit more preoccupied (Emma), and hopefully just a bit more open and able to experience all the joy that comes with this process.
Again, there will be a mountain of unknowns, but thankfully my mind always goes back to thinking, if there ever was a perfect adoption experience, we had it with Emma. At least in our minds.
Admittedly, my prayer life will have a necessary revival as we obviously are powerless in determining the outcome of this decision to grow our family. But, as with Emma, we know God has gone before us to the lay the groundwork so that we'll receive just what we need, when we need it!
Since we initially started this blog to communicate our first adoption experience, you can bet we'll be doing the same with this adoption!
