Great Weekend

It's Saturday night and I'm already deeming this weekend a success, although most weekends are. The clear, blue skies and mid 70's temps are definitely a bonus, but additionally...we've just had a good time. Friday night we hopped on our bikes and rode to a park. I love that we can choose between about 4 different parks, all within a pretty short bike-ride from our home. Then we ended the trip with, of course, a stop at the local ice cream shop. And, I decided that I'm not going to feel guilty if the three of us share one, small cone...it was delicious! We ended the night by watching The Music Man, one of Joel's favorites and his latest DVD purchase. It was my first time watching it and while I enjoyed it, my eyelids won the war and I ended up in bed long before it was over.

Saturday morning I met some gals from my ole high school gang to celebrate my girlfriend's 35th birthday (EEEK! Mine is coming up quickly!). We met at a great breakfast joint where I think I drank an entire pot of coffee myself. While I was at breakfast, Joel and Emma were out and about running a bunch of errands that I now don't have to do! Thanks hon!

All those errands did take a toll on Emma though...

Saturday night we celebrated our nephew's first birthday with fabulous charcoal grilled hamburgers and ALL the fixin's! I truly think I could live off grilled hamburgers. Please note how much Joel and his nephew look alike. Nathan looks more like Joel than he looks like his dad...amazing!
