I think I just won an award for the longest title of a post.
Any how, Joel and I have been patiently awaiting the sale of our condo so that we can buy a house. My initial grand plan (please note my lack of patience here) was for us to buy a piece of land, and then build. I wanted to buy a piece of land the moment we placed the for-sale-sign in our front yard. PHEW! Thank The Lord (truly) that that didn't happen. In fact, Joel was one phone call away from pulling the trigger on it and then I had a moment of clarity. Again, I'm glad that didn't happen since we put our condo up for sale at the end of July and here we are approaching February already! I'm not sure Joel would been too happy making those land payments...on top of our mortgage :)
So, we've had decent traffic since July (albeit NONE in December, the Holidays...), but nothing serious and definitely no offers. This past week I got a call from this lady who really needs to get out of her house and downsize and she wanted to take a peek at our condo. At the same time she mentions her house is not up for sale yet and asked where we were looking to move. I explained to her that we are simply looking to move within Byron Center, to a house, with a yard, in a neighborhood, with some kids....you know, the American Dream :) It turns out that her home pretty much met that criteria, plus more (details I won't bore you with...yet).
Last night she came to look at our condo and really liked it and invited us to look at her place, which we'll be doing next week.
I shouldn't get so excited, it really seems too good to be true...but what if it all worked out?!?! Can people swap homes (so to speak)?!?! Who knows, but I'll keep you updated.

3 thing(s) you said:
Better to swap homes than spouses is what I always say. Wait, I've never said that before. Good luck Brenda. It has the makings for a great story!
Very interesting! That would be awesome. Let us know what happens.
Please keep us updated! Sounds exciting!!! :)
