Over Due

Our baby girl's birth mom is now TWO days over due! We had lunch with her yesterday to get more acquainted and to figure out a few more details for when the time comes. It was such a blessing to see her again since our first meeting, last week. We simply met for lunch, the three of us, and just chatted.

This time, the meeting was more casual and clearly more comfortable for everyone. In fact, the birth mom mentioned that she would not mind if we were in the delivery room! I was taken back and then felt overwhelmed at her openess and kindness towards us. I, of course, smiled from ear-to-ear and exclaimed my willingness to participate. Joel, I think, needed to process that option and was not quite as willing to commit as I was, but was still extremely grateful for the option.

It was just two weeks ago, yesterday, that our life was turned upside down by a phone call from our adoption agency. As much as I can hardly wait for the adoption of our little girl to proceed and be completed, we are also grateful for every moment that we have to prepare for her arrival.
