Not your mother's kitchen appliance

What do you get when you combine two women, a new kitchen appliance and no kids? A whole lot of uninterrupted goodness. After dropping Emma off at school this morning, I sneaked over to my friend Audrey's house to see a demo of her new kitchen appliance. She had been telling me about this amazing thing for several weeks but it was time for me to witness it in person. Oh, and truth be told, I mostly wanted to go over there to catch one-last-peek of her pregnant self before her first born arrives, albeit late, as Audrey was due on Saturday. But, if you know Audrey, being overdue would never keep her out of a kitchen...in fact, I'm not sure what would?? You see, she is a chef by vocation AND reputation. She is an utterly amazing artist of all things edible, and since I have personally eaten her fare many, many times I can attest to it's succulence. Anyhow, now that she is officially done professoring at GRCC's culinary institute, she had time to show me the ropes in her kitchen and make not one, but TWO delicious treats. Thanks Audrey!

The apparent low-down on this product is that you can toss (almost any) entire fruits and/or vegetables into the Vita-Mix and create juices or smoothies with almost zero waste and since the seeds and skins contain most of the nutrients you are left with a healthy treat.

Secondly, because the blades rotate at over 240 miles an hour (note: keep fingers out of the way), you can create soups, dips, etc from cold ingredients that become hot and are ready to serve (friction I guess).

Overall, the Vita-Mix was pretty sweet. I'd love to have one myself, but the cost is a bit prohibitive unless I find an extra $500 sitting around...ya, doubtful!

2 days overdue and still whipping up
delectable edibles in the kitchen!

Just a few ingredients, when combined, will be
responsible for a party on my pallet

The Vita-Mix recipe for CHEEEEEESE sauce! YUM!
We tossed in all the cold ingredients and it came out creamy & steaming hot

The wonder product itself - looks like an old blender, but
I assure you, it's much much more.

And, one of my all time favorites - homemade hummus!
We made it in less than 3 minutes, scouts honor.
