Joel is our resident crafter, for sure. Last year he scoured the after-holiday sales for an advent 3-D calendar (wooden box w/ 25 doors that open) and found one to his liking. This year he filled each spot with a meaningful activity, leading up to Christmas. The activities vary from reading/discussing a simple verse, to cookie making, to touring Christmas lights, to (as seen below) making a 2-D manger scene. Emma can hardly wait to open the next door, each night. Kudos to Joel for cranking it up a notch and setting the thoughtful-dad bar, so high!
