4th of July

Happy Birthday USA! We are so blessed to live in the good ole USA with the many and amazing freedoms that many people around the world do not have. Let's not take these 233 years for granted! It seems that our 4th of July tradition has become going to my hometown, Ada, for the parade since Byron Center does not have a parade on the 4th. And, unfortunately (or fortunately for anyone living in BC), Joel was on-call for fire duty today so the kids and I went solo. I was actually glad that it was overcast and cool. It made for a very pleasant parade and subsequent carnival experience. My dad always pulls their church's VBS float in the parade, so that was a highlight for Emma...seeing papa on his John Deere!

Have you read the book "Pinkalicious" to Emma? It's a little bit older, but Maren LOVES it. "Sassylicious" reminded me :)
