I'm not one to be weird about having another birthday but 37 years old DOES sound old and I sure don't feel 37. Oh well, one more reason to not waste time and make every day count!
My birthday (Saturday, June 27) started out a little rough, but ended on an awesome note! I awoke at 6:15am to a 3yo crying that her ear hurt. And, after a week of a runny nose and a week of swimming lessons I was not going to take any chances. Joel took Emma to urgent care at 7:00am. I'm glad we did as the physician said Emma had a "very slight" ear infection in her right ear. Nothing a 10-day treatment of amoxycillin can't cure, though. (Emma's first ear infection ever!)
Then, it was off to run a couple errands with a side stop at the Dr. for Sam's congestion. That Dr. said Sam was only very congested, but no ear infection or respiratory issues. Good - at least I knew now.
We had made plans with our small group well over a month ago to attend a Whitecaps game and the date that worked for everyone just happened to coincide with my birthday. Yea! It was a blast. We first met up at AJ's for some go-cart racing and cupcakes, then on to 5/3 ballpark for some baseball. It was pretty darn toasty and humid out, but the clouds started rolling in and made it bit more bearable about the 4th inning.
(LOL! Who am I kidding...I have NO IDEA what inning it was. I don't think I watched one pitch or one play. It was chatty chat time AND we had to keep an eye on the kids at all times.)
I must say, the lawn seats were the best since the kids could run around and there was an awesome, fenced-in, play-ground area right by our seats. Plus, our seats were only $5, leaving a little cash for some ball park junk food. Yum!
Happy Birthday to me! It was a great day!
