The "new" nursery, etc.

We re-did the nursery. Well, not really. We just had it re-painted, but it really, really gives it such a nice, new, updated, brighter look. The previous color was a dark, dusty cranberry...not very babyish. This color is called "paris mint" by Valspar and it happens to exactly match the linens that my mom made the first time around for Emma.

We also got word today that "temporary placement" will be an option for us. That means that even though the birth mom will not have signed off on the adoption, Joel and I can still take the baby home RIGHT FROM THE HOSPITAL!!

(We are called "temporary placement" until the birth mom signs off on the adoption, in court, approximately 2-8 weeks post birth)

There is risk associated with this since the birth mom can change her mind anytime up until the court date. But, we feel the risk is worth it to have the baby in our care and home from day one.

We feel very fortunate as most babies are placed in host care until the birth mom signs off and, in fact, we were planning on that scenario with this baby up until the phone call from our agency this morning. Good news to say the least!

Above all, nothing is a promise and we are still praying that all goes well and that the birth mom feels a peace that passes understanding in the weeks ahead!

Love it, love it, love it! And praise God for the news of the temporary placement. Maybe we will have to party like rock stars this weekend considering you'll be hearing those newborn wails really soon!
