Joel and I received an awesome phone call on Monday while we were camping. Well, actually...we were supposed to be camping, but the Saturday before we left for our trip, we got an awful clog in our kitchen sink. So, Joel had to run home on Monday to meet the plumber and when he walked in the door, the phone rang. It was our adoption agency who explained to Joel that a birthmom had chosen our profile and wanted to meet us that week. We were ecstatic and proceeded to make plans to meet the birthmom on Thursday.
Our trip to Farmington Hills went great, as did the meeting with the birthmom. If all goes as planned, we are planning to have a baby boy on September 23. Wow! I get the jitters each time I think of this.
Five weeks may not seem like a long time to prepare for a baby, but it's actually 2 weeks longer than we had to prepare for Emma's arrival :)
While we are very excited by everything, the reality is that nothing is "done" until it's done so we are moving forward with cautious anticipation and praying that God does allow this little one to become our fourth family member. Just as important, we are fervently praying that the birthmom is protected and given amazing peace while she goes through the remainder of her pregnancy.

Congrats Brenda!! I will keep you and Joel in my prayers! If it's meant to be...it will :)
Btw...start picking out boys names! They were the hardest for Jim and I!
This fantastic news deserves a huge CONGRATULATIONS and maybe even a bigger GOOD LUCK.
And by luck of course I mean an amazing amount of God's grace, provision, timing, faithfulness, and love.
And by the way, you look so good, I had no idea you were due in 5 weeks. :)
We are so excited for you guys... and thanks for being such awesome examples of the joys of ADOPTION. (We can't wait to be like you!)

Brenda that is awesome. I will be praying for your family and the birthmom. I hope everything will go smoothly and that soon you will have a son to call your own. That is so exciting. From what I hear boys are easier than girls. I cant compare yet but both of my boys have been pretty easy. Congrats!!!
Congratulations guys! Kendra and I will pray that everything goes smoothly:) It sounds like God's hand is certainly on all of this.
WOW!!!!!!!!! I promise to pray for you, Joel and the birth mom!! God is good...every day!
Congratulations Brenda! I just heard the news by checking your blog (BK has been keeping me out of the loop!). Thats awesome. Thoughts and prayers go out to in during the next 5 weeks as you anticipate his arrival.
