What does that acronym stand for you ask? It stands for Sanctity Of Human Life Sunday (SOHLS), set forth by President Reagan back in 1984. Here is an excerpt of an article that hit-home with me as I was doing a bit of reading on the subject:
"...Oh, and one more thing. We often talk a lot about abortion and how we think it's wrong. But what about the children who aren't aborted and are left homeless, parentless and afraid? For more information on how you can get involved in orphan care, please check out icareaboutorphans.org. It's a great resource for what you can do to help those in need in your community.
This month is a great time to remind ourselves of all the sanctity of life issues our culture faces. But let's not just think about it. Let's do something as well. Let's care for the orphan and the widow, let's be a voice for those who can't speak for themselves."
It has always been said that actions speak louder than words and I truly believe it. I'm not sure what this means for me, or what action I will be taking, but I am 100% sure that I can no longer sit on my laurels. While I've always been pro-life, the adoption of our daughter has definitely peaked my passion for this cause. I pray that God speaks to me and our nation so that hearts will be changed and people will whole-heartedly engage in the sanctity of life!

Amen sister. Sign me up too. After losing two little babies through miscarriage and seeing Zach born premature, the sanctity of life is a big issue for me also. Maybe that's why one of my girls' names means life?
