Finally, the actual night, Halloween! This will be the final post of Emma in her well worn costume. Our Hallowed day began by going down to St. Mary's to visit papa Hondorp. He had partial knee replacement that morning and was going to remain in the hospital for the night so we wanted to be sure that he saw Emma in her costume. Our trip to the hospital was even more fun than expected since Joel's brother, wife and two children joined us as well. The hospital room was full and full of activity.
Then, it was off to church for a hot-dog dinner, children's carnival and trunk-or-treating. We had a blast. We even offered our car and handed out candy this year. Emma didn't really care about gathering candy but LOVED handing it out which I didn't protest since it was drizzling and cold. In fact, when there was a lull in children, she'd yell to kids who were close by. What she yelled, we couldn't quite make out but I'm sure she was saying, "come here! I've got loads of candy for you!"
Funny, when we put her to bed last night, there was no opposition from her. I think she was tired.
