Today was a long day. A good day, but a long day. We all woke up bright and early so that we could get a jump-start on viewing what was fresh at the local farmer's market. After perusing (but not buying) for a bit and chatting with a friend who just started selling her baked goods there, we hopped back on our bikes and went to the park. We did all this before 9:30 am so that Joel could get to his office because, per Michigan law, his office must be open the Saturday before an election (Yes, there is an election this Tuesday. Don't forget to vote!).
So, we got our daddy-time in and good thing because once Joel left his office, he was off to an annual golf outing and dinner with his buddies. Then, once Emma woke up from an unusually short nap (just my luck), we were off to water Joel's parent's flowers, etc. I normally would've rushed this task, just to get it done, but Emma and I had no where to go. So, what normally would've taken 20 minutes or so took about an hour and not only did we water the flowers and herbs, but we watered the brick patio,
the deck, some mud, the front porch, our shoes, some rocks and pretty much anything that Emma could reach with her watering can. Grandpa Hondorp may have to come out retirement once he receives his next water bill (just kidding!). Emma couldn't quite grasp that papa and grandma weren't home, so she held her own sit-in and pounded on their door while yelling "ice-cream, ice-cream!" Needless to say, she didn't get any ice cream and she wasn't a happy camper when I hauled her to the car.
Then it was back home for some down-time and a bath before the baby-sitter arrived. With baby-sitter in place, I was off to Holland with my cake-making-friend-Jenny to deliver a cake to a wedding and pick up two children, from that same wedding. If you ever need someone to build you a cake or something, Jenny is your lady.
So, while at the wedding, I also took part in a kid exchange and took Raegan and Sydney Kreider home with me, hoping that mom and dad will have a little fun-time at the wedding reception.
I currently feel pretty accomplished having three girls, under the age of 2 1/2, all sleeping soundly. While I don't want to press my luck, I better sign off and try bottle number two with this cute, but stubborn 4-month old.

So excited to hear you are starting the adoption process again! I pray for a smooth nine months, no heart-burn, and a beautiful baby at the end! :)
Emmma is cute & funny. And sounds like she is talker like her mama.
