Trunk-or-Treating

Saturday we had a great time at Byron Township's Annual Trunk-or-Treat event. The Byron Township Rec Dept solicits local businesses to participate in this "safe" trick-or-treating event that takes place at a local park. Each business participates by decorating a vehicle, then, of course, they hand out candy! We thought we'd give Emma a dry-run with her Halloween costume. As you can see, our "sunflower" was extremely excited to be dressed up. Unfortunately the weather was a bit too rainy, windy and chilly. I am thrilled to report that Emma has been "sharing" her bounty very nicely, Ha!

This next pi
cture shows our Jail-Bird...and rightly so. Emma is very eager to sit, stand and pull her-self up so we had to lower the crib (Tears - I can't believe it!). We also find that every time we put her down for a nap, she promptly sits up, ready to talk-n-play. That has been a bit challenging so if any of you have any great ideas...I'm listening!

J & B, I'm not sure which of these pics is my favorite. They are all so stinkin cute!

I don't have any good suggestions about the napping. I only have experience as an aunt and all my remedies include M&Ms:)

I am having a hard time remembering exactly what we did with our kids when the nap became a battle. A "lovey", favorite blankie, and a pacifier usually did the trick. Also, did the "stand up rock" while singing either kum-by-ya or Jesus loves me. That's it ... I am tapped out of ideas. :)
