2006...Here We Come

My posts have been pretty sparse lately, even with all my good intentions. Joel and I are starting off the new year with-a-bang and heading out to Denver, Colorado to attend my cousin's wedding as well as visit a dear friend of mine from college. It turns out that my cousin and my friend live very near each other, so it will be very convenient to stay at my friend's house, yet make it to all my cousin's wedding festivities. My parents, grandma and my little sister are also traveling to Denver to help celebrate my cousin's matrimony.

With all the recent dank and dark weather, I'm trying to focus my mind elsewhere and that means I'm already thinking about our church's Summer golf league. Last summer we took a hiatus, but this summer we are positively playing. In fact, we are making moves to head-up the league this summer. This also gives me the goal to purposely improve my game and quit ignoring the fact that I didn't become Annika Sorenstam in my first, ever, season of playing golf. I hope to begin in early spring with a few private lessons to set me on the right track.

Joel is keeping very busy, especially thru March. He is taking a two-night-per-week medical class that will complete his fire training. These classes, plus his various other evening meetings, combined with my Wednesday night bible study means that we typically, finally, see each other around 10pm every night. I can't really complain as I love to keep busy, but I will be eager for April to be here.

There is nothing new to report on the adoption. We are just trying to revel in our childlessness as we know that it will not be this way forever! Whenever we tell people that we are waiting and that we could get the-call today, or in many, many months...they always tell us to cherish our time together as time will soon be a commodity. So, we are truly trying to cherish moments that we spend together, though few and far between, while preparing to increase our family.
