Hondorp birthday bash

About half of the Hondorp clan has a June birthday so we make it a tradition to celebrate them all, at one time. Or, it's just another reason for a party. This year Joel and I insisted on hosting it and we chose a PERFECT summer night. The weather was HOT, the pool was COOL and the music coming from the adjacent park was SOOTHING. Oh, and the food and company were pretty darn good, too :)

Some, just chilling in the backyard under our one (Birch tree)
shade tree that we will forever be grateful for

This picture can't quite capture the "ooohs + aaaahs" that came
from peoples' mouths as they ripped into this succulent chicken on the bone...
Joel + charcoal = LOOOOOOVE

Emma offering to be the drink tender...from our dual purpose
garden wagon - BONUS!

Don't go calling CPS, just yet...what's wrong w/ a diaper-only
clad baby running around with a can (empty) of Budweiser.
(FYI - that's how we roll in Byron Center)
To easy any readers' angst, we don't allow any guest, under the
age of 13, to drink. No worries...

My hostas on the north side of the house. Someone
had to tell me these were hostas...

again, more diaper-only baby, running around the neighborhood
(our front sidewalk)

Crazy grandpa and grandma Hondorp!

Ok, I just read your comment on the Sugar Island post and actually snorted-something I have a policy against. Thanks for starting my day off right.
