Sweet (almost) summer night

Tonight we went to my nephew's baseball game. Emma has an affinity for her boy cousins (Aidan being one of them) so she was excited beyond words. The weather was quite beautiful too, so all in all it was lovely evening at the ball park.

On the way home from the ball park, Joel sent me a text saying they were doing some fire training (burning a barn down via a controlled fire) on a barn on 92nd and Clyde Park so we drove over there to see the firemen do their thing. My typical scared-of-absolutely-nothing child wanted to stay IN the car and asked me a hundred questions about what daddy was doing and if he was o.k. Finally, Joel came and got her and as long as he held her, she was willing to take a closer look at the fire and all the commotion.

Emma climbing and hanging on to the chain
link fence effortlessly, like a chipmunk

My niece Olivia giving Sam a little love :)

Emma lovin' on her first ring pop. I think I kept that
company in business during my days hanging out
at the CRC rec center.

Mmmmm good! Boy, do I love this picture. My man in his
burly turnout gear, learning how to
save the world, and safely holding my precious little girl...
(cold shower time - YEE HAW!)

Some of the after math

In this pic, Joel is probably answering one of her
many, many questions.
