The "big lakes"

Yesterday must've been the day for inland lakes. We spent the morning at Millennium Park and enjoyed the splash pad as well as the shallow, warm lake with very friendly fish. I forgot to check when it opened and in perfect Hondorp fashion assumed that it opened bright and early. Not the case. Just because I'm an early riser and like to get-up-and-go doesn't mean the rest of the world does so we were the first ones on the parking lot and the first ones in the gate. Thankfully the entire gang was patient despite my lack of advance work. On the flip side, my dad always says...if you're on time, you're late. I just love that quote and it fits Joel and I to a "T," most of the time anyways :)

After nap (Emma's, not mine) and Joel's arrival home from the office jungle, we left for the closer, yet just as beautiful VanSingel Lake, right here in Byron Center. The weather was perfect and many beach toys made for lots of fun.

It was Joel's turn to assist Emma in the water.
She never gets out and has no fear.

The Zany Zondervan family (minus Hailey)

Emma's FIRST sail boat ride. She apparently loved it
and was hanging over the side to touch the water.
