Emma is still a bit young for our church's Easter egg hunt, so we thought we'd do our own little Easter egg crafty-craft right at home. Joel definitely took the initiative on this activity since I'm not familiar with all this sentimental-tradition stuff since I grew up in a more practical-utilitarian home where tradition meant seeing how much you could accomplish before the day's end. I'm going to take a stab and say that my parents learned this lifestyle from both growing up in rural (and I mean RURAL) South Dakota where farming and hard-work (aren't these words synonymous?) was not an option. I think my mom used to say..."unless we got up early and worked our duff off, all day, we might not have food on the table at dinner time." (or something akin to walking uphill, both ways, to school everyday). You know what I mean :)
Anyhow, 97.2% of the time, I appreciate my no-nonsense approach to life (thanks dad and mom!), but it also makes me VERY MUCH appreciate Joel's sensitivity and obvious excitement when an opportunity arises to show or teach Emma something new.
Wow, I digress...all I wanted to do was show some photos of Joel and Emma making some colored eggs this morning. It was very cute watching them create 7 (no idea why "7") colorful eggs.
