Tonight was our extended Hondorp family Christmas gathering. We changed things up a bit this year and it turned out very nice. We met in a local restaurant's banquet room instead of someone's home, and in lieu of wasting time and money buying unnecessary gifts to exchange, we all pitched money into a pot along with a suggested non-profit to receive our combined offering. That was my favorite part, and this year, the winner was The V Foundation for cancer research, a mighty worthy cause if you ask me.
