Off The Market

And I'm not referring to me. I've been off the market since 1997, and now that I mention it, that's a long time...

Anyway, I'm actually referring to our condo. We had it listed on the MLS for 1 year, decided to re-list it for another year, then a month later, thought...what are we doing? We don't HAVE to move, we like WHERE we live, we LIKE our condo and last but NOT least, and unless you live under a rock, you know that Michigan's economy, thus the housing market, is in the tank.

So, here we are, content and determined to keep this condo ours for who knows how long...

This decision is also a catalyst for the slowly-but-surely growing list of things that I want to do:

• add bead board and paint lower level bedroom (which will become Emma's room eventually)
  
• paint lower level bathroom
• install new under-kitchen-cabinet lighting
  
• add a splash of pizazz to our entrance area walls
• have some built-ins on our main floor (bookcase) and lower level (storage cabinets & desk)

Granted, the recent drought means our money tree is not in full bloom, so we'll have to be patient and do one thing at a time.

If any of you locals know someone who is handy, or moonlights, in these areas, give me shout. I plan to take on some of the minor stuff myself, such as painting.
