This afternoon I had a bit of down time while Joel headed to the convention center for some sessions. I met him there a bit later and we proceeded to wander around 1600 vendor exhibits in the largest convention space I've ever seen in my life. I think we made it through 1/3 of the vendors at most. What made all the wandering worth it was being able to peruse each publisher's booth where they handed out free books. We ended up with 16 new books, as much as we could carry back to our hotel. We'll see what additional books we can pick-up tomorrow.
This evening we decided to head out for a fancy dinner to celebrate my 35th birthday since Joel will actually be gone on my Birthday, away to another conference (can we say junketeer!). The restaurant we went to is called Fogo De Chao. It is something to behold, truly (but not for a vegetarian!) While going to a restaurant like this is normally not in our nature, upbringing, ethics, or pocket book, we seriously splurged and a had a great time and a fabulous meal. if you're ever in Brazil or near one the 8 restaurants in the U.S....you must go!!
