My recent trip to IKEA, along with encouragement from my partner in crime, Lynn, helped me to subtly change the look of our master bedroom. Our walls are almost a mocha brown and we have cream carpeting. I previously had a sterile, white duvet cover. Pretty boring...
So, I'm excited to get home and show Joel my great find, a king duvet with two matching shams for $50 is a pretty good deal. Joel's comment was, "It's really blue."
(the two brown and one cream, square shams behind the blue shams are also new)
Now, what is that supposed to mean? Do you LIKE the blue, or is it too blue?!?! Well, it's ours now and I think he's warming up to a new and different duvet cover. It's funny how you'll think a guy won't care, but then he does.
I tried to straighten the duvet as much as possible before I took the picture, but it was sort of hard to do with an 18 pound lump of fur curled up on the bed.

I'm a big fan of blue, but I think you need a variety of accent pillows to offset all the solid blueness. Maybe a throw blanket at the foot of the bed as well.
Also, the new comment process on your blog here is not on my list of favorite things. :)
Hmmm...new comment thing?
Colors is great! Keep the blue!
We painted the walls of our bedroom REALLY BLUE and then have a brown comforter so tell Joel it could be really, really blue and would require him to paint is he wanted to change it ...
Now that duvet is looking sweet to him, huh? =)
Looks great to me except for that "fur ball" laying on the bed.
I saw it in person and it looks great. I love the color combo. Of course I am a blue person to begin with.
You know what, I think Laurie might have something there. Remove the rat, I mean cat, from the bed. Huge improvement. LOL.
