...and the Oscar goes to Hebrew National for making a wonderfully baby friendly processed meat product that my child will devour in a matter of minutes! (Am I kidding myself that these are slightly better for her than your run-of-the-mill hot dog?)
Being the big O-N-E year old girl that she is, Emma is now eating all "people food." While I prefer this over spoon feeding baby food, I now
find myself in the battle of the ages...a child who is exceedingly partial to what does and what does not enter her mouth.
It nearly takes an Act Of Congress before anything new is added to her repertoire of edibles and until that time comes, every try at a new food usually results in a spitting refusal, machine-gun style . Is it possible that meal time with a one-year old can create anxiety? I think it is.
I feel like I need to have her experience as many foods as possible to avoid an 18 year old girl who'll only eat hot dogs and processed cheese slices.
Am I being dramatic, possibly, but my point is that I wish Emma would eat and be open to eating more and different foods. While my reality with a one-year old is sinking in, I'll keep wishing for the day she grabs my leg and asks when we're going to have sushi for dinner next :)
(FYI - the images shown truly make up Emma's preferred list for acceptable and palate pleasing food items)

Good luck with the battle! I totally agree that meal times can cause anxiety! Joshua is a very picky eater as well so I feel your pain.
Hilarious! I have anxiety over the same issue and become almost giddy when Ben eats a broccoli spear. Don't worry, she won't have food issues!

I remember feeding Paige a hot dog almost every day because she loved them at a year. She now eats everything ... except green vegetables and she comes by that honestly. Hate 'em all - except maybe fresh green beans.
