EMMA IS ONE TODAY!!!

Our baby turns ONE today! This morning when Joel and I were waking up, we reminisced about getting "the call" at 5am, one year ago. I remember listening to Joel talk to the birthmom, my heart was racing so fast...I wasn't sure if it was a dream or real. I knew this day was coming, but it wasn't registering in my mind that we were having a baby! I think we made it to the hospital by 7am and held Emma for the first time at 2:06pm. It was the most beautiful thing ever, AND scary...all at the same time. I remember thinking...what are we doing? What did we sign up for? How can anyone in their right mind allow us to be parents?

Well, God has been good to us and has watched over our little family this past year. He has allowed us the most precious gift ever! Our lives are so much more fulfilling and exciting (oh, we're a bit more tired too). I trust that our family will continue to grow. We just aren't sure when or how...but that's not for us to worry about!!
