2nd Stage

It took me about 3 months to decide which 2nd stage car seat to buy for Emma. I'm normally decisive to a fault, but this time the importance of the decision stumped me. I poured thru review after review until I became cross-eyed. I am willing to compromise on a lot of things...but at the safety of my child? Not so much. I realize there are several schools of thought on this and the one I heard the most was, "EVERY car seat has to meet the same safety criteria."

Then, VIOLA! Contrary to the NHTSA, the latest Consumer Reports article (of which I loyally subscribe to) has deemed nearly 90% of the most popular infant car seats to be complete disasters. Now, I realize that they did not test any stage-2/convertible car seats, but come on...I hardly can believe that somehow ALL stage-2 car seats would pass the same test with flying colors.

Anyhow, I bit the bullet and finally purchased the Cosco Alpha Omega Elite. She seems to like it so far and that is good since she'll spend a fair amount of her childhood years with her fanny planted, firmly in it.

I also must clarify that I'm NOT a chronic worrier. I'm quite hopeful that there will never be reason for us to 'test' the durability of the new car seat :)
